Week 4 NFL picks

As the Greco earlier stated, it's been a crazy week for us Hawk fans.  Of course the defense continues to go overlooked...and that's fine.  Excuse me while I look past the Lambs and the Kittens and look forward to Big Bad Bill and the Kraft Krew.Bring it on...but leave Gisele at home Tom, she might not like what the 12th man has to say.

If I weren't a Seahawks fan the under would definitely play. Under has won in every game so far, thanks to Coach Carrols philosophy.  Keep it thuggish Uncle Pete. Oh yeah I almost forgot...heads up Hawks fans.  The reinstatement of the regular referees also reinstates the leagues policy on screwing over the Hawks on a regular basis.

Definitely some great games this week highlighted by a ton of Divisional games and the Pack vs the Saints.

SD @ KC (U 44) Scarface and his crew got whipped at home and now they get gifted with a trip to one of the toughest places to play. Taking the under here with past four meetings between them being under the points line.

SF @ NYJ (U 40.5) I bet you didn't know that the Under is 6-1 when the Niners are road favorites by 3.5-10 points. Shouldn't be any problems acclimating to time zone change, the Niners never came home from last weeks Minnesota game.  The Jets D won't be the same with Revis out, oh wait, Cromartie is now best corner in the league.

Cin @ Jax (Cin +1) After this I'm done with Marv if he and Ginger don't come through for me.  Cincy easily covered for their last meeting in October and should win by at least a FG today.

No Neva today.  Don't call it a contract dispute either.  He's been busy saving the world 1 iPhone at a time, with incredibly slow 3G service.

Week 4

What a week!!
The Monday Night went as expected (minus “the call”) either way my Hawks were victorious. Some may say that game was a blown call, well I say the Packers got dismantled in the game. Eight sacks in the first half? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Rodgers was rotten cheese.
On to the picks!!

Pats -3.5 New England vs Buffalo- The Brady show is back in business after last week. Both the Bills backs are banged up so I see the Pats taking this one. I just can’t see the Patriots losing three straight.

Giants +2  New York vs Philly- The time bomb started ticking last week with Vick crying. The bomb will be ticking faster this week after the G’men put him on his back five times. The Eagles have the Giants number recently, but not this year. This is my lock of the week, take it to the bank.

Bengals -1  Cincinnati vs Jacksonville- The Ginger will strike. Way too much fire power for Dalton in this one. The Jags don’t have enough offense to counter the Bengals.

Week 3 Review

Its Monday and I'm prepping for a fantastic Monday Night match up. With Sunday nights game I barely missed the perfect 3-0. I'm going to have to agree with Coach Belichick and say the kick was no good. These replacement zebras had a rough weekend. I can see the league making a few hefty donations to charity after these fines.

As predicted the Cardinals took it to the Eagles in a good ol fashioned beat down. Also predicted, there is a storm brewing in the city of brotherly love. "Right now we're with Michael (Vick), and that's what we're doing. We'll evaluate as we go," Reid said. That sounds like trouble to me.

The Jets stole one from the improved Dolphins. Poor Coach Philbin, attempted to ice the kicker and gave him a mulligan. The W was a costly one as Revis is out for the season. Here is a stat for you junkies: with Revis on the field teams complete 54% of their passes, with him off opponents complete 74%. Could be a long season for the Jets.

The last game was called correctly by Greco and the refs blew the call. Brady threw for 300+ and Wes had his typical 8 for 142. The Ravens are a good team and I think these two teams could meet again in the AFC Championship.

Until next week~Greco

NFL Picks for Week 3

What a great week it was for Hawk nation.  We even got a new Real Rob Report too.  Hard to beat the shower pill dance off though.
Monday night will be another tough test for the Defense.  We're not at the point where we can keep pace with a team like Green Bay, so here's my advice to Coach Petey; "Keep it thuggish."
Phi@AZ (AZ+3.5) - Are you a statmongerer? I got one for you pal.  Home underdogs are 8-3 against the spread so far this year.  Pains me to pick the Whizz but that defense is keeping them in games.  And I'm sure Kevin Kolb has been licking his chops game planning against the Juan Castillo led defense....uhh or vice versa.
Jax@Ind (Ind-3) - It appears Luck has quelled those Ryan Leaf comparisons and sealed his entry into Canton with last weeks victory. Who knows what to think about Jacksonville...except that they're not very good. Hell even the under plays here but I'll save that parlay action for another day.
Det@Ten (Det-4) - I like the Lions coming into their house and covering at least by a TD. Munchak might need to insert ol' Baldy into the mix to save their season. My guru fantasy insight is usually saved for another forum but I'm going to break my rule here.  CJ runs for 17 on 10 carries with a long run of 20 yards and one fumble.
We have another guest contribution this week.  All the way from Ballard we have picks from Mr. Neva.  Fresh off his CenturyLink ban he was able to take a minute away from his busy work schedule and his NFL "$75 please let me back in" courses to give us his picks.
Jax@Ind (Ind -3)
KC@NO (KC +8.5)
Atl@SD (Atl +3)
Thanks for your insight Neva!  We're all looking forward to see how it plays out.

Greco's Picks of Week 3-NFL

Ahhhhh week three in the NFL!!!! My Hawks are going to be taking out the Packers on Monday Night Football! Cant wait!! Aaron Rodgers is going to get a taste of the 12th MAN! On to the picks of the week...

Jets@Dolphins (Jets -2) The circus show of the Jets in Miami? This could make some interesting TMZ highlights. We have the Footman hanging with Jesus in South Beach. Bart is about to beat up Dan Leberfeld if he takes another photo. Hey Bart your in the NFL bro chill....Jets with an easy W.

Eagles@Cardinals (Arizona +3) The Cardinals are the surprise of the NFL so far and I think they can pull off the upset here. Vick starts crying like a little girl about this and that. The Eagles are a time bomb waiting to explode and this could be the week.

Patriots@Ravens (Patriots -2) Well well well. With Hernandez out I see the Welker Show returning. The Brady bunch returns to their roots, 4 and 5 wide sets. The Ravens are going to be tough but I see Tommy returning to old form. Hey Gisele, if Wes doesn't catch every pass be easy on him.

UEFA CL Day 2

What a game in Madrid.  Mourinho's substitutions looked guru as Benzema scored and Modric played well.  Thank goodness cr7 was able to celebrate as much of us were concerned with his sadness.  Milan doesn't look good and will have themselves to blame when Anderlecht advances through the group stage.

Group E
Shaktar v Nords - Zero insight here honestly.  I still can't find the Ukrainian or Danish leagues on my cable box.

Chelsea v Juventus - Juve already rolling atop Serie A, still undefeated dating back to last year.  Yup, picking against the defending champs, lucks runs out pal.  Starting Goldilocks isn't going to change my mind either.

Group F
Bayern v Valencia - Taking Bayern at home today.  Undoubtedly, Valencia has started well in their league campaign drawing with Los Blancos and narrowly losing to Barca.  However, going to be a tough match to win in Munchen.

Lille v Bate - Kalou is good for a goal in this one and taking Lille.

Group G
Barca v Spartak - No brainer, Barca putting up a 5 spot today easily.

Celtic v Benfica - Benfica played very tough last year in the group stages and I like them and Barca coming out this group.

Group H
Braga v CFR Cluj - Cluuuuuuj...the Romanian club relishes the role as the underdog and sneaks out with a win.

ManU v Galatasaray - If there were no RVP I think this ends in a draw, HOWEVER, that is not the case.  ManU takes 3 points today with a 3-1 victory.

The new Black and Blue division

Laughingstock to powerhouse? | NBC Sports http://m.nbcsports.com/content/laughingstock-powerhouse

Interesting read for you NFC West diehards.

UEFA CL play begins today!

The drama continues on the pitch today.

Real Madrid v Manchester City - Will CR7 recover from his sadness to lead Los Blancos to glory?  Up front they're going with Higuain, CR7, DiMaria, and Essien (curiously no Ozil or Modric, and of course no Kaka).  Should be a great game!  I like Real 2- MCFC 1, but the real (no pun intended) question is whether CR7 smiles today.

Winners below in bold:

Group A
Dinamo Zagreb v Porto - No Hulk, I'm taking Dinamo. Porto's UCL weak play continues from last year.

PSG v Dynamo Kiev - Ibrahimovic tells us all to temper PSG expectations, right bro.  Spent big money for some hardware not tempered expectations, though he's right, could take some time.

Group B
Montepellier v Arsenal - A dominating performance in the Barclays on Saturday carries over.

Olympiakos v Schalke 04 - I'm taking the Greeks at home today.

Damnit! I had some some guru insight for C, D groups.  Games are starting, so I'll make this quick. I like Milan, Zenit, Dortmund, and Real out of the remaining groups.

How bout them Hawks!

Watch "Dallas Cowboys look pathetic vs the Seahawks" on YouTube

Always tough to be on the losing side that but nonetheless there are some good chuckles in here.

Hopefully we continue to thug it up against the Pack on Monday night.

Week 2 bro

What can I say about last week....it was week one.  Big game at this week for the Hawks and we get to see RW for his home opener with the 12th man behind him.  Should be a classic Petey game.  Grind it out till the 4th and win late.  Onto the picks!

Scottrodamus
Cle @ Cin  (Cin-7)  I expect ginger and the lawfirm to bring it today for the home crowd.  After their late collapse against the Ravens, order must be restored.  It is the browns after all.

Min @ Ind (Ind +3)  Upset special!  This ain't the Bears D we saw in week one.  It's time for Luck do something or else the RGIII compared to Manning and Luck compared to Leaf talks warrant serious validation despite it being week 2.

Hou @ Jax (over 40)  I like the home team putting up 'some' points but I don't like the home team.  Houston
is good for 28 at least.

Patrykus
Oak @ Mia - Oak (-2) This is the Lock of the Week. Philbin dances around yet again and misses.  DMC plus 150, Dolphins ain't got a chance.

NO @ Car (NO -3) Bountygate and shove it straight up your a**...New Orleans defense pissed off, cake walk.

Bal @ Phi (Bal +3) Joe Flacco pulls the strings and Ray Rice benefits.  Vick struggles yet again with 2 picks.  Almost made my lock of the week.

We also have a guest contributor all the way from the 512.

Egan
AZ @ NE - (NE -14) NE Easily the Pats are covering 2 touchdowns.  I'll go as far as saying its a shutout.  I mean c'mon it's Kevin Kolb.

Hou @ Jax - (Hou -7) Houston easily covering 1 touchdown.

KC @ Buf - (KC +3) KC getting points...not a fan of the Buffalo D.

That's it.

Here's the ugliness.

Scottrodamus 1-4
Patrykus 2-3
Egan 0-0

Redemption Monday

What an embarrassment to sports betting we were on Sunday.  Already I'm notice from Google for removing this blog for picking 0 picks right so far.  My only excuse is that it was week 1. And by the way, yesterday seals the deal, I won't ever, ever, never, ever, ever include the Seahawks in my picks ever again.

Monday picks are in and redemption is at stake.

Scottrodamus
Cincy @ Baltimore -  (Cin +7) No one is on the Bengals train and to be fair neither am I.  However, this is a divisional game and I expect this one to be closer than 1 TD from an improved Cincy offense.

SD @ Oak - (SD +1) Just a yawner borefest which I'm sure most of the east coast will ignore.  Coach Turner is the midst of another 'Save my job' campaign and I see the Chahguhs starting off this year with a victory.  Over looks good too.

Patrykus
Cincy @ Balt - (Bal -7) Ray Lewis takes it to the Ginger tonight with 2.5 sacks as the Ravens are victorious in memory of Art.

SD @ Oak - (SD +1) The SD super Chargers take it to the Raiders and yet another new coaching staff.

Until next week...Scottrodamus

New Contributer Has Joined The Staff

The "Patrykus" has submitted his Week 1 locks of the week.

SF @ GB - (-5.5) I like Green Bay because Arod is throwing for 3tds and Alex Smith is giving up one key turnover......and the ghost of the Favre comes out and says "boo."

Sea@ AZ - (-1.0) The easiest pick of the week...BY FAR!  Seattles D is coming out to party!

Car@Tam (-3) Cam Newton had a heyday versus Tampas D.

Week 1 is finally here!!

Dallas @ NYG - I wouldn't touch this one, however I'd be inclined to take the G-MEEEENN at -4.  No word so far on Witten's attempt to play using a waiver.  With a less than 100% Witten through the first few weeks, Jerry's kids could be in for a possible 1-3 start at NY, at Sea, and Chi.

Buffalo @ NYJ - Under (38.5)
Stronger D in Buffalo, Rex's STRONGEST team so far, 0 TD's from Mark Sanchez, 0 TD's from Tebow, and throw in a decent chance of rain, the under sounds good to me.

Jax @ Minnesota - Under (39.5)
Definitely not going to watch but the under plays.  I can see Minnesota covering as well and running it out through the rest of the game.  Not really sure what to think of the Jacksonville offense right now.  Great move MJD, I didn't draft you anyway.

Seattle @ Arizona - Sea (-2.5)
I told myself I should never bet on my hometeam Hawks but c'mon! Its John Skelton!  You like how I already gave Dallas a 1-3 start giving the Seahawks a 2-0 start for the season?  Even if BeastMode doesn't go this weekend with back spasms, I'm still taking Sea to cover with Turbin in the backfield.
