Week 17 NFL GURU picks
I begin this week's picks with a quote from none other than Ernest P Worrell:
"Hey, Vern. Hey Vern. Hey Vern. Hey Vern."
Chi@Det (Chi-3) Coach Lovie needs this one bad, like save your job bad. Schwarzie's underperforming Lions are on a 7 game loser streak. Last time these towering titans played it was a classic black n blue score with the Bears prevailing 13-7. Score definitely goes higher this time and we shall see what is left in the tank for the Lions. Perhaps Stafford can throw for 400 in a losing effort today.
Oak@SD (U39.5) I hear Raider nation is happy to see the second coming of Cam Newton finally come to fruition. Was Party Boy not available to start or is he hurt again? Last time these guys played, together they rushed for only seventy something yards. Look for more ugliness here and did you know that the under has won in the Raiders past 6 games?
StL@Sea (O41) Thanks to Caesar's for the extra point btw. Did you know that in the second round of NFC West revenge games Seattle is throttling opponents by a combined 100-13 margin? Well Mr Damus did you know that St Louis is 4-1 in their past 4 games? Yes I did and didn't it include highly esteemed wins over Arizona, Buffalo and Tampa Bay. Look for Seattle's offense to put up 3tds today and its defense put up 2tds today. If you're reading this blog Coach Fisher, and you're doing the math, that means all I need from you is 1 touchdown.
We'll return next week where myself and the Greco will be picking ALL NFL playoff games through the Super Bowl. Sorry Mizz fans, he got out of the biz (couldn't handle it) and moved to the sticks.

Week 16 NFL GURU picks (plus lazy Grecos picks)
Big big big big huge game tonight. Enough preamble and onto the filler until we get there.
StL@TB (StL+3) TB riding a 4 game losing streak with the lambs heading into town. Guess what, the Rams still hold on to an outside shot of the playoffs and have been playing decent despite their drubbing against the Vikings last week. Who hasn't fell victim to AP? Schiano, go back to the college ranks bro, and take your victory formation blitz package with you. Actually I like that play but take it anyways.
NE@Jax (NE+14) Last time they had a line this big the Bills battled to within a touchdown. But we are talking the Jags here who have put up 3, 10, and 18 points up in there last 3 games. Look for Bill Tom and company to avenge a tough loss from last week. Mercy rule not in effect today.
NYG@Bal (Bal+2.5) Big surprise here with the Damus taking the home dog. Who can figure out these Giants (or Ravens for that matter). Go into Cincy and get throttled, then rebound with a solid victory against the Pack. They blow up against the Saints and get manhandled in Atlanta. I don't look for a rebound this week as they went 2-4 in their last 6 and haven't won a road game in that spell.
Greco just emailed me his picks. I don't where he was getting his lines, maybe that's why he's been struggling all year. He's getting Vegas Caesar's line which I have been using all year.
Saints +2.5
Giants -2.5
Seahawks -1

Greco-Week 15
Washington@Cleveland
Redskins moneyline here. No points in this one either way. RGIII will play and make the Browns pay. Easy money.
New York@Atlanta
Giants moneyline here also. No points, I would give the Falcons 5 here if I could, just to make things interesting. The Falcons are going to fold as they always do.
Denver@Baltimore
Denver -3 The Broncos will win by 5. Take it to the bank.

Week 15 NFL GURU Picks
58-nil. Nuff said. Hello Canada.
Let's stop wasting precious time and get picking!
GB@Chi (GB-3) Coach Lovie and crew are in the midst of a 1-4 stretch and it ain't going to get any better today. It's no secret that Mike Tice relies on the Brandon Marshall Cutler connection, if you can neutralize that, it should be at least a touchdown cover for the pack. Oh yeah, the Bears are hurting too.
Min@STL (Min+3) Both these squads are hanging on the dimmer of dimmest playoffs hopes. AP on a mission to not only eclipse 2k but take the record, I like the Vikes in a close one where ball possession will be of the greatest importance. But Mr Damus, didn't the Lambs just beat the Niners? Yeah so did these Vikes.
Was@Cle (Was+4) Two of the league's hotter teams. While the Browns 3 game streak isn't as impressive as the Skins, it does include a victory over the Steelers. The Skins did happen to run through the whole NFC East and capped off their run with a victory over the Ravens. Despite RG tha thirrrrrrrrrd being inactive today, it should be another close game today and you can thank Caesar's for the extra point on the line. It matters, trust me.

Week 14-Greco
Falcons@Panthers Falcons -3.5
Bears@Vikings Bears -3.5
Saints@Giants Giants -5
Week 14 NFL GURU Picks
What a finish last weekend for the Seahawks in Chicago. Most people seem to remember the game winning drives of 80 and 97 yards. Yup, that's drives plural. But I remember how close were they to losing it after the 50 yard bomb to Marshall to get them into field goal range. Luckily all it took was the coin toss and Russell Wilson to get the victory.
We get our largest spread of the year at 10. For those taking notes they have been 8-4 against the spread all year, with those 4 being duds in their away games. Last week, the Steelers made me look like an idiot, again. I think I should adopt Greco's 'no Steelers policy.' Anyway onto the picks!
Bal@Was (Bal +2.5) While the 'Skins are coming off a nice hot streak with divisional wins, I am not buying this one. They struggled mightily against the Steelers four weeks ago and look for the Ravens to regain winning form and seal the division. There are some injury concerns but the Ravens did come off some tough road wins in San Diego and Pittsburgh before losing their home game last week.
NYJ@Jax (U38) Last year was an ugly 35-3 win by the Jets and honestly I really don't care who wins this one this year. All I know is it won't be pretty and it will be under 38.5 points.
AZ@Sea (Sea -10) Really Mr. Damus? You're taking your home team? Yes and yes. It is the largest line of the year and they undoubtedly cover despite Browner being out of the game. You can put all 3 of Arizona's QBs out on the field at the same time, it's not going to make a difference. That offense blows.

Week 13-Greco
Week 13 NFL GURU picks
What a joke of a finish last week in Miami. Instead of taking command of the wild card spot, the Hawks left themself in a must win situation at Chicago (where Seattle has played at annually it seems like for the past 5 years). Instead of TJack this year, who helped engineer a dominating performance last year against the Bears, we return with @DangeRussWilson. Large part of our dominance from last year was due to the secondary picking off Caleb Hanie 4 times! It would be nice to see that sort of production again before we have to send off Browner and Sherman for 4 weeks. Onto the picks! You'll notice, no Jets and no Bengals this weekend as, there is no mo Fireman Ed and I try to stay away from Scarface and the Chargers.
Jax@Buf (O43) Looking for a shootout here today. Since the switch was made to Henne, the Jags have been averaging 30 points a game.
NE@Mia (Mia +7.5) Home dogs, broseph! I still do see the Pats winning as they have dominated this series the past few years, but can thank Vegas for the extra half point. Miami is relatively healthy and has been playing games close with only the Tennessee loss being the exception.
Pit@Bal (U36) I covered wonderfully last time these 2 teams meet just two weeks ago. Vegas wised up and lowered the total points down for this 2 week rematch, however The 'Damus still is taking this one LARGE. The Steel crew should be getting some hurt players back this week, DeCastro, Brown, and Mr Head and Shoulders himself, Polamalu. But the one they really needed back is their QB, no not Leftwich, but Roethlisberger. Ravens should win easily today, I don't know about covering, but that should seal the deal for the AFC North Division.
