Week 12-Greco

For the first time of the year Greco will not be watching the beloved Hawks game. Nor will Greco be sharing his deep insight for the picks. Have no fear followers I will still enlighten with winning picks.

Atlanta@/Tampa
Falcons -1.5

Buffalo@Indy
Indy -3

SanFran@New Orleans
Saints -1

Until next week!!!

Week 12 NFL GURU picks

I have a confession to make.

While I had professed never to bet for your favorite team, I secretly have been and I have been winning my bets too.  While they will not make my locks this week because they fly east for an early game and are 3 point faves, they certainly are open to my bets again from here on out.

It's been busy times for the staff as Sunday morning has arrived, we are two hours away from kickoff and no submissions from Greco or the Mizz.  Although the Mizz is being his usual diva self, "Hey Damus are going to talk about a raise now since I finally went undefeated?"  Only took him all year.

Onto the picks!

Pit@Cle (+1.5) Are you serious Mr Damus? Are you really buying into the year of the home dogs? Better believe it baby! I almost took the under but it's too low at 33-34.  Why is it so low? Let's put the Brown's deficiencies aside and consider the Steelers situation. Big Ben is out, Leftwich is out, hello John Legend, err I mean Charlie Batch! Polamalu is still nursing a hurt calf, though if you tweet Ed Werder you might be able to find out his status for playing today. Lastly, a little reminder for gun safety folks, if you're packing heat and its in your pocket, put the safety on.  Which reminds me, Plax returns!

SF@NO (+2.5) Remember the last time these guys played? What a game! It ain't Alex Smith starting though, it's ya boy Kaepernick. The Saints have been quietly picking up some victories and have had a nice stretch ATS against NFC teams recently going 4-0.  Oh yeah don't forget, they're home dogs.

StL@Ari (U37.5) Remember that time long long ago when those NFC West beat writers were declaring the division as the new crème de la crème.  Well, year to date they have amassed a collective 7-12 record.  Perhaps next year. Last game between these two was a doozy with the Rams winning 20-3, look for the Cards to avenge their loss with a 21-13 victory at home.

Locks Of The Week

I am back yet again after taking the week off for a trip to Vegas and now am loaded with all kinds of "INSIDE INFORMATION"

Pick #1
Tampa bay -1.5 over the Carolina
Tampa Bay has been starting really good and aggressive football lately and their defense should be more than Cam Newton can handle.  You all know how I feel about Cam and think he is way too inconsistent for my liking. I see this one getting ugly if Tampa can get an early lead.....Which shouldn't be a problem on that vaunted Carolina defense.

Pick #2
The Saints -5 vs Oakland Raiders
What can I say? The Raiders find ways to lose and I see them loosing big! The Saints have been En Fuego as of late and I don't see that perennial pocket statue known as Carson Palmer doing enough against the Saints to get the win even in the dirty filthy black hole.

Pick #3
Cincinnati Bengals -3.5 over the Kansas City Chiefs
Just in case you were wondering what my green line was that is a new feature to my blog postings, it is the Major Money Line! As in bet your house lock of the week!

On to the game, this is so easy mainly because the chiefs are so bad that they couldn't beat a red headed step child right now. I know they got Cassel back but still that only slightly makes the team slightly better then a loaf of bread. This one won't be ugly but it will be a 10-14 point beat down lead by the Ginger Princess himself.

Max bet and let it ride!

Da Mizz

Week 11-Greco

Great to see my Hawks destroy the circus show last week. I will just leave it at that. Um no I won't. An El Lounge fav took home some hardware with the first of many soon to be Defensive Players of the Week awards. Conrgats Big Perm Sherm. Appears this boy can ball and is backing up his on field chatter. That was the second week in a row Sherman didn't allow a reception.  Already being compared to Revis. Not to shabby in his second year....Here is his interview on NFL Network http://on.nfl.com/PXdl9k

Philly@Washington
Ealges +3.5 You may ask why I chose this match up? Well it is simple, the Eagles are going to get back to basics and pound the rock. With Vick at QB the Eagles never knew what type of team they were. Passing, rushing or scrambling. Well the joke is over with a true drop back passer. They will return to the roots of Reid's offense, the West Coast Offense. RGIII has struggled of late as Defense Coordinators are catching up to him. Don't think for a second the Eagles are going to lose this game, getting 3.5 is a bonus.

Green Bay@Detroit
Green Bay -3 Are  you kidding me? Only 3 points here??? Rodgers is going to have his typical day here 300+ yards 3 TDs. The Lions have lost four straight to the Packers and I don't see this changing this year. Megatron could be facing the Madden Jinx this year as his thumb and knee have kept him down a bit. Green Bay all day.

Tampa Bay@Carolina
Bus -1.5 The Bucs have been on a tear lately and this will continue. Newton will start his regress again and blame the comment box. Tampa is the real deal and will make quick work out of the soft Panthers.

Week 10-Greco

As Scottrodamus mentioned the circus is coming to town this week in Seattle. Can't wait for these idiots to get a taste of the 12th man. Hey Tim, SEC stadiums are not even close to the Clink volume, as you will witness. On to the picks!!!

Denver@Carolina
Broncos -3.5 Peyton is going to tear apart the Panthers Defense. Carolina has the 24th ranked Offense and that isn't going to really matter in this one. Cam will not win two in a row and will fall back to reality here folks.

Houston@Chicago
Bears -1 This is going to be a rough game with the outcome coming down to turnovers. The Bears have the edge in this department as they had a warm up game last week versus the Titans. The Cutler to Marshall combo is paying dividends for the Bears this year and will make it 8-1.

New York@Cincianti
Giants -4 I just love riding the wave of Eli. Not sure why but just do. The Gmen are going to smack the hell out of the Bengals here. This game isn't worthy of my break down. The GGGGGmen take it to them early.

SEC stadiums are louder, huh?

Week 10 NFL GURU picks!

Heard the Mizz missed his flight to Vegas this morning, perhaps it was because he double checked his record this year and it scared the living hell out of him.  Stick to the slots brochacho.

Well, everyone's favorite toe-sucker and the Gang Green circus come into town tomorrow and the Hawks are basically a touchdown favorite. No James Carpenter nor KJ Wright due to concussions. If I did bet on my home team, you can bet your ass I'd be betting large on the Hawks covering. And now, the picks!

NYG@Cin (NYG-4) Seems like I always have a Bungals game in here somehow, which hasn't necessarily done well for me.  I ain't picking them this time though pal!  Coach Coughlin was just utterly disgusted by his team's 'soft play' last week and I see Eli and company rolling here in Karl Rove country.

Stl@SF (U 38.5) 38.5 has been the benchmark lately for NFC west games.  The last time we had a Frisco divisional game the under came through and I'm riding that wave all the way to the cage.  This will be a similar result in the Niners winning 27-10.

Hou@Chi (U 39) "Mr 'Damus?! Are you serious? Two games taking the under? And you made a Rove reference!" Defense my friend, defense.  Houston has not given up the ball that much this year and the Bears D is out of control this year in the takeaways category. Somethings got to give right? Not this game should be a close fought game, perhaps a Super Bowl preview. 20-17.

The Mizz's Week 9 Locks

Week 9 Locks

Hold the phone Goodell you know you can't start week 9 before I get my picks in, you don't want another lawsuit to deal with.

Pick #1
Atlanta over Dallas

The Falcons are undefeated and playing a terrible cowboys team that has to go into Atlanta (Good Home field advantage) and Dallas is somehow only a 4 point dog! Matty Ice is gonna pick this defense apart look for this one to get out of hand early.  The Falcons will get a two score lead forcing Tony Homo to drop back and pass which will allow him to pad his league leading stat of most INT's.

Pick #2
Detroit over Jacksonville

Again My pick is a 4 point favorite but this is a no brainer as well, MJD out no chance for Jacksonville.  Who in their right mind would trust Blaine Gabbert? Nobody that's who.  I see Detroit having a breakout offensive day and just routing the banged up jaguar team.

Pick #3
Washington Over The Carolina

My Pick is favored by 3.5  at home, I'm not sure if Carolina can even score 3.5 on offense. I see Sir Robert Griffin the third at home having another big game and outplaying last years number 1 overall pick. Not much analysis on this one I just think Carolina stinks, their on the road and Cam Newton is terrible. Newton will fall behind early and I see him and Tony Romo having a shoot out for most int's this week.

Week 9 NFL GURU picks!

Still a trendsetter.  "Hey Mr 'Damus! I went 3-0 just like you!" - Greco.  Old news pal, you want a cookie for keeping up with me?  I heard the Mizz already off the wagon after his iron clad guarantee last week.

So, I'm sure you heard the stat about Jerry's kids, and how they're destined to win this weekend and the Dirty Birds are destined for the Super Bowl.  It's proven fact pal.

Chi@Ten (Chi-3.5) The Bears narrowly escaped last week against the Panthers and I fully expect them to recover and easily cover the points.  Let's put it this way, Baldy ain't no Cam Newton.  The stifling Bears D should prove to be tough for CJ0.5k and company to get the ground game going, henceforth it's gonna be a long day for #8.

Den@Cin (Den-4.5) Taking the favorites on the road here.  The Broncos offense starting to put up points as they have scored 30+ in 3 of their last 4 games.  Cincy on the other hand is giving up 26.7 points per game, your D just isn't cutting it Marv.  Things could ugly as another loss continues the Bengals skid to 4.

Dal@Atl (O47.5) Damned near every game the Cowboys have played recently the over has paid out.  "So are you saying this offense is finally finding its groove and should be a formidable opponent for any defense, Mr 'Damus?"  Uhh very much no.  The Gut's defense is giving up about 30 points a game these past 4 games.  The Falcons offense is averaging just a shade under 30 pts/game and should make for an entertaining SNF matchup.  If I were picking sides here, I'd probably take Jerry's kids getting the points but the Falcons winning at home.

That line was too easy to call, good for him

Week 9-Greco

First, it was Scottrodamus partying too hard from his 3-0 week and then the Mizz getting out of rehab. Greco went 3-0 last week with laser focus to set up the second half of the season. This week there are many juicy options for us to make moves on. The one game I will stay away from is the Steelers vs Giants. I want to take the Gmen here but I NEVER bet on the Steelers. They have a history of screwing me one way or another.  As I take my winnings and roll them into this week be prepared for victory. ON TO THE PICKS!!!

Baltimore@Cleveland
Ravens -3.5 The Ravens have won the last nine meetings between these two dating back to September of 2008. Flacco has never lost to the Browns and I don’t see things changing this week. The Under is in play here but I’ll give the points and collect my payout. Easy money here folks.

Carolina@Washington
Redskins -3 I would normally stay away from a rookie QB but RGIII is the real deal folks. Cam Newton doesn’t have a clue how to fix his game other than running for his life. He is leading the team in rushing (310 yards), and that just tells you have jacked up the team is. Where did Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams go? They have a combined 394 yards and 2 touchdowns. PATHETIC!

Dallas@Atlanta
Falcons -4 Yes I am giving up points to the Cowboys again and Romo is going to choke, again. The Falcons are taking care of people easily and the Cowboys will be next on the list. This matchup is more like consistency vs inconsistency. We could sit here and talk numbers but I will not waste your time, you get the point. Falcons soar in this one.
